Montrichard

On June 3 I travelled to Montrichard. This was my most adventurous use of the 1cm: 1km maps yet, and I was really getting into the groove of it all now, confidently stopping along the way to get much needed nourishment for the cycling journey. You can see my bike parked outside a little bar at Fontaines-en-Sologne where I had a morning hot chocolate. And the second building is the restaurant Le Commerce in Pontlevoy, where there is a ruined abbey. I had one of my most delicious meals in France here, a three course menu for only ten Euros.

Here is a shot of the track along the river Cher, right behind the camping ground at Montrichard, a wee town that I fell quite in love with.
