362: homegrown salad

 

I have a friend who is not only a superb cook, she is also a wonderful gardener. Most of the veges in this salad have come from her own garden. Fresh and delicious!

354: Joseph St Kitchen

I had another trip to the dump this morning with some more green waste... and stopped off on my way home for a hot chocolate at Mike's Joseph St Kitchen. Oh, and an afghan too :-)

329: celebration

There was a celebration this evening- for some young teachers and some retiring teachers. 

239: Hungry Lamb

 Called into a friend's place after a walk in the countryside this morning- and they had a hungry lamb to feed. It was one of twins whose mother died.

191: Bird feeder

 

This weekend I have been taking some camera movie footage of the birds at the garden feeder, ready to edit at my last digital camera class next week. Here is a still shot of a silver-eye.

134: Wellington Zoo

This morning I spent a couple of hours wandering in Wellington Zoo. One of this group of monkeys had found a blue plastic container that obviously held food- and it was not being shared, no way! Other monkeys looked on longingly- but the 'eater' had no sympathy for them at all...

79: Te Matai Rd crops

En route for the Bridle Track this morning on my bicycle, I passed these crops growing on Te Matai Rd. These soils are the most fertile ones there are near Palmerston North, having been gifted the silt on the flood plains many times.
(It's hard to believe there are some who would try and justify using this land for housing, so they can justify building a second bridge near this point. This is flood plains land, peoples.)

It was a beautiful morning, with gentle sunshine and calm: I was so happy to be out cycling.
