I headed out into the countryside today to visit a friend, and en route home saw this 'calm before the storm' view of sheep in the sunshine, with dark clouds that looked so threatening looming above the Ruahines.
And at my friend's house, I enjoyed becoming acquainted with her baby, plus a whole array of farmyard animals. Here is one of her chooks, and I am looking forward to eating the free range eggs she gave me!
That looks like Audrey my missing chicken. I thought she was inside a fox, but maybe she emigrated!
ReplyDeleteAndy
She had a few mates on this farm. You didn't lose any others to emigration did you?
ReplyDeleteSo far so good - we still have three (which is enough)
ReplyDeleteThat's really a spectacular sky.
ReplyDeleteMary-Laura, it has since brought us all the rain it promised as well!
ReplyDeleteI love the new look of your blog! And the pictures are great, Spring, what a wonderful season, too bad we have to go through Winter before we see it again!.
ReplyDeleteMichèle
I used the 'advanced' bit of the new design template Michèle, and found I was able to make the main section wider to put bigger photos there. Plus I played around with colour combos.
ReplyDeleteSpring has been very wet here for the last few weeks, though supposedly it is going to improve. But you have had your turn for summer, and it is our turn now!
Wet spring? Is that why the sheep are so white? Over the ditch in OZ there's a bit more dust ...
ReplyDeleteHappy travels!
Adventures in Australia
Red Nomad... I gather some parts of you had a bit of very wetting rain and floods, before our recent, very long storm, that we acquired from you!
ReplyDeleteKia ora,
ReplyDeleteI wouldn't mind being up in those clouds! Though at a cool hut with the fire going and a cuppa in hand with no plans to go anywhere.
Cheers,
Robb
Robb, actually in this instance I am glad I was heading for home out of the rain that arrived!
ReplyDeleteSo how were the eggs??? I never thought too much about free range vs regular eggs till someone gifted me with some at Easter this year. They were without question the best eggs I ever ate! My daughter-in-law agreed as did the entire family when we had a huge scramble of them! hope yours are as good!
ReplyDeleteksam- the eggs were absolutely scrummy. And was so huge I thought it had to be a double yolker but it wasn't....
