In Santiago

In Santiago

I have reached Santiago. It is sunny! Dawdled into town thinking about my 2008 Camino buddies. Got to Pilgrim Office at same time as Johnnie Walker who gave me my Compostela. Amazingly, saw all those I especially wanted to see in and around the Cathedral.

Booked in for a free tour of the Portica de Gloria soon. More later!

  5. I watched the webcam on the Plaza a bit today and even if you had been there ( wasn't expectant you), I don't think I would be able to pick you out the people are so small! But I did see the lovely sun in front of the Cathedral and people enjoying it! I am so happy for you Maggie Pink and a little envious, as you know.

    1. I know where it is. I saw two people dancing on it while talking on their phones. Will try and be there 6pm today!

    2. Well I will try to look for you! You need to dance or raise your arms because people are minuscule from the webcam!

  6. Congratulations Margaret. Thanks for the blog - it allowed me and others to share in the enjoyment of your walk. Even with all your aches and pains, I think a tough day on the Camino is still better than a good day at work.

Santiago is great since you get to meet up with many others yopu meet on "the Way". Hope you got to see (or will get to see) the botafumeiro.

    2008, 2012, . . Next Camino in 2016 . . .just like the Olympics??

  9. Elisabet, I have been thinking of you as I walked. Maybe 2012 can't be your year for walking in Spain- but I hope that maybe next year it can happen for you. Margaret
