266: riverside walk

Another lovely spring day. I wore a summer skirt and top all day, and never lived to regret it! On the way home I took a walk in the sunshine down by the riverside...

207: snow-free hills

Well, this was a surprising turn-up for the books: no snow visible this morning on the hills behind Palmerston North!
Yesterday much of the country was in the grip of a severe winter storm. It was very chilly here in Palmy, but the worst weather I saw was a small bit of sleet, that I could almost imagine a few snowflakes in. However, roads were closed by snow just over the other side of the ranges, and I fondly imagined I would be putting a photo up here today that showed snow low on the hills near Palmy. But the whole storm seems to have more or less bypassed us, and you only see snow when you get a glimpse of higher parts of the ranges!

177: riverside in winter

Another lovely winter's day. Bit drizzly at times, but often gently sunny with no wind. The ground is sodden though, as the rain has fallen heavily overnight.

The cliffs behind are looming up from the Manawatu River.
You can see more photos from this riverside walk here.

149: Riverside Walkers

A beautiful Sunday morning here today, and lots of people were out early walking along the riverside track. (I must admit that every time I was passed by someone walking swiftly by in a green Manawatu Striders shirt I felt ever so slightly guilty that I was just dawdling-taking-photos, but I tried not to let it get to me!!)

34: On the Bridle Track

On the Bridle Track beside the Manawatu River, near Albert St

The wind has dropped somewhat this morning, and I decided it was time I tried out the Bridle Track on my bicycle. (First time since mid-July last year when I broke my wrist....) It was wonderful and I loved it! I have come home dripping with sweat and will now head into the shower.
