A special corner on my lounge wall- includes my Compostela and some Camino photos from France and Spain. This time three years ago was the day I arrived in Astorga, with the mountains ahead heralding that I was coming to the end of a very long walk...
With out showing my total ignorance- what's a Compostela?
ReplyDeleteIt's a special certificate you can get if you walk the last 100km or cycle the last 200km to Santiago de Composetela in northern Spain. I walked 1500+ km so I was very glad to receive one!
ReplyDeleteI have a similar corner in our t.v. room with my compostela and a water colour Arlette gave me.

Was it a water colour she made?
ReplyDeleteYes, it is a scene in France of a ploughed field with two pilgrims walking. She did a water colour for my parents also. She has a bit of a talent, her water colours of the Gaspé region are particularly nice.

That's a very special memento to have of the Chemin!
