TP 214: Grounded

This week's theme for Thematic Photographic is Grounded.

At this stage I just have two photos for this theme- though might add more later depending on what I get up to over the weekend!

The cherry blossom trees at the Esplanade in Palmy look magnificent at present- and this little treasure had fallen to the ground from one of the trees.

Down on the Bridle Track beside the Manawatu River, there are a few sections where you can walk down onto stony areas at the river's edge. These stones were on one such edge- largely they are greywacke which is predominant in this area.

  1. Nice choices - the cherry flower is lovely, and I really like stones and rocks - I've taken a few pictures of rocks myself :)

  2. I have a few discrete little rock collections around my house too :-)

  3. Lovely cherry flower! its a shame the blossom has to fall, but I suppose we'd get no cherries if it didn't! And nice rocks, too. what are the pink ones?

    1. Hi Gilly- I am afraid I don't know what the pink ones are- possibly something volcanic. I like looking at rocks, but don't know much about them!

  4. The pink rocks are sort of heart shaped! How cute!

    1. They're just how the river tumbled them I guess- could have come from quite some distance in floods...

    1. Thanks Laura. I might look for a fungus on the ground when I go out walking in a few minutes as well... Maybe these rocks would look more interesting in the wet, but I probably wouldn't have been walking in this spot then!

  6. You are definitely not between a rock and a hard place with shots like these.

    1. Thanks Bob. Checked out your shots- love the grounded ruins- not something I would find on a walk here at home!
